I've been going back through everything, and it seems to me that everyone likes my shots of cats. Sure, some of y'all like my action figures and such... but the cats get the most faves. With this in mind I will endeavor to capture more deviant worthy images of my feline friends. There's 4 of them in the house so it shouldn't be hard. Besides, they are much more tolerant of me and my camera than most humans are. :) Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to view my images. Happy holidays and more cats coming soon!

Spinning

Things to remember when shooting on a merry go round. #1. Don't drop your camera #2. Don't get dizzy. #3. Don't slide off the merry go round. I managed one out of three. It seems like a simple enough task... spin the merry go round slowly and shoot your subject, getting a cool motion blur in the back ground. Yeah. Right. I get my son on there, I'm spinning, and sliding. I manage to get some shots of him that are actually in focus. That in and of it's self is a miracle. In the end I was dizzy with a horrible headache and did slide off on my butt, as I was dragged around the merry go round. And there is actually video of this. (we're a f

My four year old son was reviewing images form the Star Wars exhibit with me. He looks at one and states that it's blurry. I try and explain to him that it's not blurry. That it has parts that are blurry because of the depth of field. That only what falls in the depth of field appears to be in focus. Apparently the star destroyer is still missing it's front point. OK, seriously dude, it was dark, had to have the aperture wide open. f/1.8 leaves a pretty friggin shallow depth of field.
